Shipping policy

Effective date: 01 April 2026

1 Delivery area

Mikdash currently delivers within South Africa only. Delivery availability depends on the customer’s location, the product dimensions and the available carrier route.

2 Delivery charges

Delivery is quoted separately and is not included in the product price unless the quotation or checkout expressly says otherwise. The quote may include line-haul transport, local delivery, handling, storage or special-access charges where applicable.

Delivery of the Curated Fabric Sample Box within South Africa is included in its R250 price.

3 Delivery timing

The four-to-six-week estimate applies to manufacturing only. Once the product is ready, Mikdash or the appointed carrier will provide an estimated dispatch or delivery window. Delivery dates remain estimates because routes, carrier capacity and conditions in transit may change. Where the parties have agreed a delivery period, Mikdash will work within that period. If an order cannot be supplied because the goods or required materials are unavailable, Mikdash will notify the customer and refund payments as required by law.

4 Delivery address and access

The customer must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, contact number and any access instructions before dispatch.

  • The customer must measure doorways, passages, staircases, lifts and entrances and confirm that the product can be delivered safely.
  • The customer must disclose stairs, estate restrictions, limited parking, long carrying distances and any need for hoisting or specialist equipment before the delivery is booked.
  • The delivery team may refuse an unsafe delivery or one likely to damage the product or property.
  • Additional charges may apply for waiting time, restricted access, failed delivery, redelivery, storage, hoisting or specialist handling.

5 Receipt and inspection

The customer or an authorised adult must be available to receive the order. The customer should inspect the packaging and product at delivery and note visible damage on the delivery record before signing. Visible transit damage or an incorrect item should preferably be reported in writing within 48 hours, together with clear photographs and the order number. This reporting period helps Mikdash investigate the carrier claim and does not remove any statutory right.

6 Failed delivery and storage

If delivery cannot be completed because no authorised person is present, the address is incorrect, access was not disclosed, or the product cannot safely pass through the available access, the customer may be charged for redelivery, storage and other reasonable costs.

7 Collection

Where collection is agreed, the customer or carrier must use a vehicle and restraints suitable for upholstered furniture. Risk passes when the product is handed to the customer or the customer’s nominated carrier, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law.

8 Damage during later transport

The warranty does not cover damage caused after delivery by moving, relocation, storage or transport arranged by the customer, unless the damage results from a defect that was already present when the product was supplied.
