We’re two moms and friends who both love a good DIY project.
Over the December 2025 holidays, we spent our time working on a few small projects around our homes, including redesigning one of our daughters’ bedrooms for her birthday. Somewhere along the way, the idea for Mikdash Collective began to take shape.
We had a bed in mind but couldn’t find anything locally that felt quite right. Chanel, being Chanel, was convinced we could design and develop it ourselves. So we did.
That first bed got us thinking about the other pieces we’d been looking for, especially for our children’s rooms. We both love putting a room together, but with kids, it has to work for everyday life too. Family has always been at the centre of how we make our homes, and it naturally became part of how we designed our furniture.
One idea led to another. Friends and family loved what we were creating and started asking for pieces for their own homes. We began making a few things for the people closest to us, and slowly, through those conversations and requests, it grew into a business.
We each brought something different to it. For Linca, this love of home grew through years of moving between countries, raising a young family and supporting her husband’s demanding career. With every move, making an unfamiliar space feel warm and familiar gave her family something steady. Those experiences shaped the way she thinks about furniture, decor and the rooms we spend our lives in.
Chanel brings a background in events and floristry, where she has spent years bringing together colours, textures and details to transform spaces. She has a natural eye for how things work together, and loves finding the little touches that make a room feel personal, along with the willingness to give anything a go. It was that confidence that got us started, and our shared love of home and family that shaped what we created together.
As we begin this next chapter, we approach each piece with the same question: would we love it in our own homes, and would it work for the way our families live?
